The Department of Health recommends annual flu vaccination for all those aged 65 and over, and for people under 65 years in at-risk groups. The Sanofi Pasteur Flu Reminder Service is a free service designed to help your surgery increase the uptake of flu vaccination in these patients.
The patients your surgery identifies as being in the 'at-risk' groups are alerted to the need to come into the surgery for their annual flu vaccination when they receive a text or voicemail message. The service can distinguish between landline and mobile numbers and sends the appropriate message.
You control which of your patients you wish to contact, upload their contact details on a secure website and decide on the date the messages will be sent. Records are kept of the number of patients who have been successfully contacted and the surgery receives a report at the end of the season.
As part of the service you will receive surgery posters and leaflets that will encourage patients to make an appointment for their annual flu vaccination.
